A girl that can be described as the brains of the Sailor Senshi. She is the strategist. Some may say that she has very weak attacks, but if you look more closely you realize that they are not made for offense. The Bubbles and Aqua Illusion are mainly defensive attacks to distract the youma long enough for Sailor Moon to use her scepter. Also she uses her visor and mini data computer to find a weak point.
She study's all the time and as a result does very well in school. It is once said that Ami has an IQ near to 300! One episode focused on her struggle with whether that was all she was good for or if she could do something other than study. She races Michiru (Michelle) at swimming and the first time she slows down to let her win, but when Michiru asks for a redo Ami pushes herself and they tie. This shows Ami that she's not only a bookworm.
She lives in an apartment with her mother who is a doctor. Her parents are divorced. Her father is an eccentric Japanese artist who sends her drawings from time to time.
